Zinc Plated Carbon Steel External Hex Head Bolt, also called hex bolts or hex head cap screws, are threaded fasteners with a six-sided head. They are installed with a wrench or a socket. Compared to other fasteners, hex head cap screws provide a larger surface-bearing area for better clamping. Hex bolts are well-suited for OEM applications, construction projects, infrastructure, and other uses that require tight tolerances.
Hex Head Screw Threaded Fastener Options
Hex head cap screws with standard thread pitch are available fully threaded to DIN 933 and partially threaded to DIN 931. ISO, JIS, or ASTM styles or property classes may be available by special request. We also offer threaded fasteners and hexagon screws for additional metric component options.
Available in a huge range of thread diameters from M2 to M36 as standard, with lengths ranging from 3mm up to 250mm. Optional thread locking patches can also be supplied.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.

Finish
A yellow plated zinc finish gives a fixing a protective layer, providing a good level of corrosion prevention, as well as further protection due to the passivate addition which provides a yellow or gold finish.
The yellow zinc plating of the fastener refers to the colour of the chromate that is applied once the zinc has been deposited on the fixing or fastener. This chromate prevents the zinc from corroding as well as increasing overall protection
